According to the Counterpoint research India Premium Smartphone consumer Survey, over half of the respondents were inquisitive about getting a premium smartphone within the next twelve months. This survey was conducted using 800 respondents, and these users were found to prioritize dirt and water resistance in premium smartphones. Premium smartphones for this survey were considered as all phones priced higher than Rs. 20,000, and also the report notes that Samsung and OnePlus are competing closely during this phase. apparently, the survey added  that Samsung phone consumers look to replace their smartphones quicker than OnePlus phone consumers.

Almost half of the respondents were inquisitive about spending Rs. 40,000 or more for his or her next smartphone purchase. moreover, one in each 5 respondents was inquisitive about spending Rs. 60,000 or more, while only around 8 % of those respondents indicated their interest in spending Rs. 80,000 or more.

Water and dirt resistance also came out to be a well-liked feature in the survey. Pavel Naiya, Senior Analyst at Counterpoint research, explains, “There may be a close competition between Samsung and OnePlus within the premium phase. Our survey reveals Samsung users replace their smartphones slightly quicker than average while OnePlus users hold onto their devices for a bit longer. nearly six out of 10 Samsung users have an interest in replacing their smartphone within the next year. regarding four out of each 10 users of OnePlus decide to get a brand new smartphone within the next year.”
